Terms, Conditions, Cancellation and Payment Policy

REGISTRATION

After throughly reviewing the contents of this page, please register and pay for your trip to guarantee your spot. Final acceptance of any program participant is subject to availability and MSA’s discretion and review of all required forms, documents and payment. Once we receive your registration form and payment, we will be in touch by email to confirm your participation and provide more information to help you prepare. If the program is already full, or we see an issue that prevents your participation, a full refund will be made promptly.

PAYMENT

Full payment is required upon registration to secure your space. Payment can be made via credit/debit card.

CANCELLATION

Day trips: There is a 7-day cancellation policy for all day trips. If you cancel a day trip 7-days before departure, there will be a full refund, minus the 10% security deposit held for offsites and large groups. Once within the cancellation period (7 days) there will be no transfers or refunds allowed.

Overnight trips: If you cancel or leave a multi-day program early for any reason, your refund will be determined according to the terms & timelines outlined below. Please consider this information thoroughly before you make your commitment.

  • If you cancel more than 60 days from the program start date, we will grant you a full refund minus a $100 administration fee.

  • If you cancel between 30--59 days from the program start date, we will refund your payment minus a $200 fee.

  • Less than 30 days before the program start date, or once the trip has begun, there will be NO REFUND. Please understand that our programs are small and extensive preparations are made in advance assuming your attendance (e.g. extensive trip planning and coordination, reservations, food & supply purchases, permit fees, guarantee of guides’ payment based on certain attendance, etc.)

RAIN OR SHINE

MSA’s programs run rain or shine, as long as conditions are considered fundamentally safe. For this reason, participation in a MSA’s program requires a reasonable level of physical health and fitness, and the ability to be outside in potentially inclement weather.

RIGHT TO CANCEL PROGRAMS

MSA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trips due to inadequate sign-ups or for other unforeseen circumstances that make the program economically or logistically un-feasible for us to operate. In this case, we will offer you the choice of an alternative itinerary of equal value and quality, or the choice of a refund minus a 10% (of the price you paid) admin fee. However, MSA is not responsible for any travel costs or additional expenses incurred by you in preparation for the cancelled program. If desired, we recommend purchasing a “cancel for any reason” travel insurance policy to cover your full costs. 2 companies we recommend for insurance are:

  • iTravelInsured offers flexible "cancel for any reason" policies and pre-existing condition waivers; these policies need to be booked within 20 days of paying your MSA reservation

  • World Nomads is widely used for guided tours, and slightly more affordable. They do not have policies with "cancel for any reason" or pre-existing condition waivers, however, so their plans offer less protection. Their policies can be booked at any time in advance of your program.

MSA reserves the right to cancel programs or modify itineraries due to circumstances beyond our control that make the trip unsafe or impossible to continue. All trips are subject to itinerary changes or cancellation for a wide variety of reasons including, but not limited to: weather, natural disasters, wildfires, landslides, park or public land closures, trail and/or road closures, acts of God, political events such as terrorism, strikes, pandemics, civil disturbances, or changes in law. NO REFUNDS will be made due to unforeseen conditions that are beyond MSA’s control, and we are not responsible for any travel costs or additional expenses incurred by you in preparation for the cancelled program. Please see information about trip insurance above to protect yourself.

When signing up for a class, trip, or program and/or purchasing products you are authorizing charges to your credit card.  In addition, refund & cancellation terms will be displayed to you at the time of purchase. MSA’S activities are designed for participants in good health. Due to the nature of the activities, we reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone. Our programs take place in an isolated environment, immediate medical attention may not be available. Each participant must read and sign our risk form.

MSA will be in touch to confirm receipt of your payment and registration, and to follow up with any questions. If the program is already full, or we see an issue that prevents your participation, we will be in touch, and a full refund will be made promptly.
