Women’s Big Sur Wildflower Walk

The heavy rains this winter are a great omen for spring wildflowers. Big Sur during a spring bloom is one of California’s most beautiful moments…

HIGHLIGHTS:

This guided & curated 7.6-mile hike in Andrew Molera’s coastal wilderness meanders in and out of sparkling ocean views, green fields, pygmy redwoods and flower-drenched hillsides. Hike has a climb of ~1300’ for 2 miles and is strenuous. We will organize carpools to Andrew Molera at the “Circle Church” in Santa Cruz. BYO lunch.

DETAILS

WHAT: Hike 7.6 miles through Big Sur’s magical coastline! There is a 2-mile long significant climb of 1300’ and has a lot of up and down, be prepared for hills. The panoramic views at the top are well worth it :) View map

WHEN: 9am meet at 111 Errett Circle at the “Circle Church” on May 12th (Mother’s Day). Google map. Meet in front of the church sanctuary on the front lawn facing the ocean. We’ll organize carpools and head down to Big Sur. Drive is ~1.5 hours. Return to Santa Cruz ~6pm.

WHERE: Andrew Molera SP. This 7.6 mile hike takes us on coastal bluffs and down to Molera beach. Please be prepared to comfortably hike 7.6 miles with significant hills. Lunch enjoyed either on the trail or at the beach depending on how fast we go.

PLEASE BRING:

  • Sturdy hiking boots/sturdy sneakers

  • LUNCH & snacks

  • Layers

  • Water bottle

  • Optional - sunhat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain jacket, camera and hiking poles.

Price: $20 (covers administrative costs. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds)

Hike is guided by our own MSA founder, Caitlin Davies. She is familiar with the trails of Big Sur, coastal wildflower species and rolling around in wildflowers…
