Cruzin' Bike-and-Hike

A perfect NorCal day: hiking in the redwoods, pedaling a beach cruiser along sea cliffs. We love this hike and bike! Plus a roller coaster ride at the Beach Boardwalk and sunset cocktails? Best day ever...

Itinerary:

9:30am Meet at the Dream Inn (or other designated meeting place) for brief introductions and logistics

Hike in beautiful Wilder State Park for a 6.7 mile hike through redwoods with sweeping views and *mostly* downhill. Gourmet picnic lunch included at the historic cultural center.

Afternoon. Our 2 expert bike guides lead us along the well-marked coastal trail that is relatively flat and almost exclusively for bikes and pedestrians. For 7.6 miles we head towards Santa Cruz keeping a look out for surfers, seals, otters, whales and dolphins playing in the waves. Famous "Giant Dipper" rollercoaster time at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk! Not into roller coasters? No problem, here are some other options:

  • Stroll the wharf to shop, people-watch or enjoy oysters and clam chowder (not included in trip price).
  • Chill at the beach and watch surfers hang ten at Steamer Lane
  • Enjoy a cocktail at The Dream Inn's Aquarius Restaurant, overlooking Cowell's Beach

Re-convene at the Dream Inn's Aquarius Bar for a sunset cocktail and toast.
